In this post, we will be talking about the biography of Uche Jombo. Uche Jombo is a Nigerian actress, scriptwriter, filmmaker, movie director, and producer. She has thrived in the Nigerian movie industry for over 20 years and is still relevant in the industry. She is the founder and CEO of Uche Jumbo Studios.
Uche Jombo, now Uche Jombo Rodriguez was born on the 28th of December 1979, to Mr Nelson Jombo and Mrs Ngozi Jombo in Abiriba, Abia State, Nigeria. She had her primary, and secondary education in Abiriba.
While in secondary school, she joined the school’s drama group, and always got an award as the best drama student. Uche Jombo was also a member of the drama department in her mother’s church, which made the church pay part of her secondary school tuition fees.
After secondary school, Uche proceeded to the University of Calabar (UNICAL), where he studied Mathematics and Statistics. Upon graduating from UNICAL, she went for a second degree at the Federal University of Technology Minna, where she studied Computer Programming. She is happily married to a Portuguese man – Kenny Rodriguez, and they are blessed with a son – Mathew Rodriguez.
She ventured into the Nigerian movie industry, with the movie Visa to Hell in 1999. Thus far, she has written, and co-written 30 screenplay Nollywood classics including The Celebrity, Games Men Play, Girls in the Hood and A Time to Love, Lies Men Tell, Holding Hope, A Mother’s Fight, Unconditional, A Time to Love, Be My Wife.
Also, Uche Jombo has featured in over 200 movies, produced 30 movies including Nollywood Hustlers, Holding Hope, and Damage. She has also directed 6 movies.
Uche Jombo founded Uche Jombo Studios (UJS) in 2008, with the intent of creating movies that would leave a positive impact on society. The award-winning movie – Heaven on my mind, was created by Uche Jombo Studios.
