The Nigerian Police (formally the Nigerian Police Force) is becoming cool employment-wise. The salary is considerably good for a young school leaver entering the labour market. Police recruitment N40,000+ monthly.

The Nigerian Police Force (NPF), which was first established in 1820 is the principal law enforcement agency in Nigeria and is responsible for the internal security of lives and properties.

Its vision is to make Nigeria safer and more secure for economic development and growth; to create a safe and secure environment for everyone living in Nigeria.

It has a staff strength of about 371,800. There are currently plans by the present Government to increase the force to 650,000. The NPF is a vast organisation consisting of 36 State commands grouped into 12 zones and seven administrative organs.

The federal agency also has 14 different arms. The agency is currently headed by the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Abubakar Adamu, MPN, MNI.

The ranking of the Nigeria Police runs from “Recruit” all the way up to the Inspector General of Police (appointed by the President of the Federation). The salary increases along with that path too. Police Constables got N43,000 in the past, but with the newly approved salary increment structure, they get N84,000 monthly. How cool is that?
