Peter Obi Biography and Net worth: Peter Obi is a veteran Nigerian politician and public personality.
The businessman who was the vice-presidential candidate in the 2019 Nigerian general election under the Peoples Democratic Party.
He was the former governor of Anambra State serving from 17 March 2006 to 2 November 2006, when he was impeached and from 9 February 2007 to 29 May 2007 after his impeachment was overturned.
Although a fresh election was held on 29 April 2007, he has reappointed governor on 14 June 2007 after a court ruling that he should be allowed to complete a four-year term
He won on 6th February 2010 election for a second term as governor.

Career.
Peter Obi started his career in business. He was so successful he became one amongst the wealthiest businessmen in the south-east. He later became the Chairman of Next International Nigeria Ltd, Chairman, and Director of
Guardian Express Mortgage Bank Ltd, Guardian Express Bank Plc, Paymaster Nigeria Ltd, Future View Securities Ltd, Data Corp Ltd, Chams Nigeria Ltd and Card Center Ltd.
He also became the youngest chairman of Fidelity Bank plc. He was appointed by former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 as Chairman of the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Peter Obi also began a career in politics when he was elected as the governor of Anambra state under APGA political party. He made sure to manage the state’s resources judiciously.
Before he became the governor, he was running against Chris Ngige of the People Democratic Party and Ngige was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) but Obi did not allow that to stop him, he took the case to court. After he won the court case on the 15th of March, 2006, he became the governor on 17th March, 2006.
Obi was later impeached after seven months in office by the state house of assembly, who installed his deputy, Virginia Etiaba on 2nd November 2006 as the first female governor in Nigeria. Obi was later reinstated by the Court of Appeal sitting in Enugu state as the governor on 9th February 2007. He remained in power till 17th March 2014 when he handed over to his successor, Willie Obiano.
Presently, he is a member of the People Democratic Party (PDP) where he is to run as the vice president to Atiku in the 2019 general elections.
