Nigerian NAVY online registration which had commenced March 2020 but was later suspended in April due to the COVID-19 Pandemic has officially started for just two weeks.

The Nigerian NAVY Recruitment 2021/2022

The Nigeria Navy is a division of Nigerian Armed Forces. This force is part of the biggest forces in the African Continent which is made up of thousands of personnel plus those of the coast guard. The Nigerian Navy was formed from the Nigerian marine after the amalgamation of the southern and northern protectorate in 1914.

Then, their function was basically to be in charge of the ports and harbours, channel dredging, lighting and voyage. In 1959 July, the Nigerian Naval Force was changed and permitted to function as a naval force. As a result, Queen Elizabeth II allows the force to be called ” The Royal Nigerian Navy”. The name was finally changed to “The Nigerian Navy” which its called today after Nigeria becomes a republic state in 1963.

1. Defense Against Foreign Attacks:

2. Cost Guard Duties

Under the cost guard duties, the Nigerian Navy perform the following roles;

Enforcement of regulations and laws concerning customs.
Train other men what they need to know before joining the force.

3. Military Responsibility

They join forces with other military units form a larger force projection and ensure the balance of power.

Nigerian Navy recruitment requirements 2021/2022:

Here are the requirements listed on the Nigerian Navy recruitment portal:

• All applicant should be between 18 – 22 or 18 and 26 Years for those with ND, NCE, Nurses and Motor Transport Department (MTD) respectively
• This position is open for applicant who are either O Level or OND holders.
• Your first school leaving certificate is required.
• You must be physically and mentally sound.
• You should be a Nigerian citizen
• For all Male applicants you must not be shorter than 1.68 meters while the female applicants must not stand at a height below 1.65 meters.
• You should be single.
• If you have gone for an orthopedic surgery please don’t apply.
• If you have been convicted in a court of law please don’t apply.
• Ladies who are pregnant please don’t apply.
• All certificates presented must be in their original form.

Shortlisted Candidates for the Nigerian Navy 2021/2022 Recruitment Interview

All applicants who were able to find their names on the Nigerian Navy list of successful candidates should note that an aptitude test and an interview will be held sooner and all candidates must participate in this NN interview at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School Ojo (Navy Town), LAGOS. How will the Nigerian Navy interview be like?

All candidate will undergo a compulsory screening of which their credentials or certificates and all documents will be screened carefully.

After undergoing the screening, you will still be subjected to a medical test and also an exam. All this types of screening we just mentioned comes in stages and you must exercise extreme patience.

Items to come with on the day of your screening are:

• Originals and photocopies of their credentials.
• Originals and photocopies of valid Drivers’ License (Category H only).
• Writing materials.
• Two pairs of navy blue shorts and 2 white (unmarked) T-Shirts.
• A pair of canvas/trainer and stockings.
• Bedsheets and pillowcases.
• Set of cutlery.
• Four (4) recent 30X30 passport sized photographs on white background.

• the Nigerian Navy are going interview all candidate on individual basis, so you guys need to prepare for this and also make sure you fulfill the eligibility criteria so as not to get disqualified at any stage.
• the Nigerian Navy will carefully cross-check all information you have given so far at this stage and if found to be fake/false/wrong might lead to disqualification.

It’s no news that the Nigerian Navy will set up exams for you guys which is simply called an Aptitude Test. If you are able to scale through this aptitude test you will proceed to Nigerian Navy Secondary
School Ojo (Navy Town), Lagos.

THE STRUCTURE OF THE NIGERIAN NAVY

The Nigerian Navy has An Headquarter and Divisional commands.

1. The Nigerian Navy Headquarter

The Nigerian Navy headquarters is the organ saddled with the responsibility of making policies and carrying out of the administrative function of the Naval force. The head of the headquarters is the Chief of the Naval Staff.

The chief of naval staff has seven other branches attached to the headquarter and they are: Policy and Planning, Administration, Operation and training, logistics, Standard and Safety, Naval Engineering, Account and Budget.

2. Divisional Commands

The Western Naval Command: This is the command that oversees the coastal and sea region from Nigerian/ Benin border. It a well covers Nigerian coastal areas to EEZ nation’s boundary. The headquarter of this Command is located at Apapa, Lagos State.

The Eastern Naval Command:This is the second divisional command of the Nigerian Navy. The Eastern divisional headquarter is situated at Cross River State capital; Calabar. This division covers from Delta to Nigeria/Cameroon border. Also from the coastline of Nigeria to the nation’s EEZ limit.

The Central Naval Command: The Central Naval Command is the third divisional command of the Nigerian Navy. This divisional command monitors Benin River entrance, Bayelsa, Edo and Delta coastal area.
