List of the Youngest Presidents in the World: Usually, it is said that world leaders are supposed to be in their 40s at the very least but many a time, they are over 60 or 70. It is easy to understand why though because to be in a position of power requires lots of experience and hard work.

However, we tend to see that the youngest presidents reach that position a lot faster than others, which is why this article will give a list of some of the youngest presidents and leaders in the world.

These presidents and leaders come from different parts of the world; from democracies, dictatorships, and monarchies in Eastern and Western Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Their reign indicates a gradual revolution of the young generation of leaders in the world.

The following are the list of the youngest presidents and leaders in the world:

1. Emmanuel Macron

Emmanuel Macron currently the youngest president in the world. He is the President of France and ex officio Co-Prince of Andorra, having assumed these offices on 14 May 2017.

A former civil servant and investment banker, he studied philosophy at Paris Nanterre University, completed a Master’s of Public Affairs at Sciences Po, and graduated from the École Nationale d’administration (ENA) in 2004.

He worked as an Inspector of Finances in the Inspectorate General of Finances (IGF), then became an investment banker at Rothschild & Cie Banque.

2. Kim Jong Un

Age: 35

Country: Democratic People’s Republic of Korea

Office: Supreme Leader of North Korea

Kim Jong-un is the Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea and supreme leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea). Kim inherited leadership from his father, Kim Jong-il, and grandfather, Kim Il-sung. He has not slowed down in repressing opposition within the closed-off country and escalates testing of its nuclear missiles.

He is also the Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army, Chairman of the Central Military Commission, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission, and member of the country’s highest decision-making body, the Presidium of the Politburo of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

3. Tamid bin Hamad Al Thani

Office: Emir of Qatar

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani is the eighth and current Ameer of the State of Qatar, the fourth son of the previous Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Tamim became Emir of Qatar on 25 June 2013 after his father’s abdication.

4. Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck

Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck is the fifth and current reigning Druk Gyalpo or “Dragon King” of the Kingdom of Bhutan, after his father Jigme Singye Wangchuck abdicated the throne in his favor. He became King at the age of 25, adding him to the list of one of the world’s youngest presidents (leaders) of a small nation.

5. Vanessa D’Ambrosio

Country: San Marino, Europe

Office: Captain Regent of San Marino

Vanessa D’Ambrosio tops the list of world’s youngest leaders and she is currently the second-youngest woman who becomes Captain Regent in the history of San Marino after Maria Lea Pedini-Angelini, who was sworn in at the age of 25. Since December 2016, D’Ambrosio is the Head of Delegation for San Marino to the Council of Europe.

6. Saleh Ali al-Sammad

Born: January 1, 1979, Sahar District

Age: 39

Country: Yemen

Office: President of the Supreme Political Council of Yemen

After the Houthi (a political movement) takeover of the government, Saleh Ali al-Sammad became the senior Houthi leader in Sana’a. Meanwhile, he previously served as a political adviser to President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, appointed in September 2014.

7. Emil Dimitriev

Born: March 19, 1979, Probištip

Age: 39

Country: Macedonia (FYROM)

Office: Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia

Dimitriev was nominated in an interim capacity as prime minister of Macedonia and he assumed office on January 18 following the arranged pre-electoral resignation of Nikola Gruevski, as part of the Przino Agreement.
