MTN Xtratime service is available to active prepaid MTN customers who have also meet up with the eligibility criteria below;

• SIM must be prepaid
• SIM must be registered
• Customer’s main account balance must be between N0 and N12
• MTN’s consideration of Customer’s monthly recharge frequency
• MTN’s consideration of Customer’s average monthly spend
• Customer must have cleared an outstanding XtraTime debt (if any) and associated charges thereof.

How can I access MTN XtraTime?

To access the XtraTime service, dial *606#.

You will be welcomed with the Menu displayed below;

From the menu, you can now;

• Check XtraTime eligibility status
• Request Airtime
• Request Data (XtraByte)
• And also learn more about MTN XtraTime and access other options by selecting “Next”.

Once you request airtime as an eligible customer, and it is approved, the airtime is automatically loaded or credited to your special “XtraTime account”

How To Check XtraTime Balance

Customers can check their XtraTime account balance by dialing *606#. And then follow up prompt.

On Using Borrowed MTN XtraTime Airtime

Airtime borrowed from MTN XtraTime can be used to make all calls across all networks. It can also used to perform all chargeable operations and activities on MTN network. But once you have exhausted the borrowed airtime, you will not be able to make calls or do any other chargeable activities until you have paid back for the airtime borrowed.

MTN XtraTime Service Charge

XtraTime service attracts a service charge of 15% of the airtime borrowed, which is automatically deducted from the amount intended to borrow. For instance, when you request for N100 airtime, a service fee of N15 is first deducted, and then the remaining N85 is credited to your account.

On Paying Back MTN XtraTime

The Airtime borrowed is usually recovered from the customer’s next airtime recharge. What this means is that, once you buy airtime and recharge it, MTN will automatically deduct the amount you are owing them. But whereby the amount of airtime you have recharged is less than the outstanding balance you owe MTN, subsequent recharges will still be used to recover whatever the outstanding balance you owe.

You can always use the usual balance inquiry command *556# to check the outstanding amount you owe MTN. The balance is shown in negative value, indicating the outstanding amount.
