The beauty of these USSD codes is that you can use them on the most basic devices i.e. Feature phones.

How to use USSD codes to perform bank transactions

  1. Input the bank’s USSD code into your phone’s dialer and hit the dial/call button
  2. Follow the prompt Pop up on your phone’s display.

Note:  If you’re using a bank’s USSD code for the first time, you need to create a PIN. This PIN is very important for your mobile banking as it will be used to approve/verify the current and subsequent transactions.

Another important thing to note is that some banks might require you to use the last 4 – 6 digits of your debit/ATM card as your security PIN. this is to verify that you are the actual owner of the device/phone line of which you are about to set up for Moblie USSD banking.

To use the USSD code of any Nigerian bank to perform transactions though, you need to have an active account with that particular bank — except you’re trying to open a new account using the USSD code.
