A-Reece was born on the 27th of March 1997 in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. He is currently 24 years old. His given name is Lehlogonolo Ronald Mataboge but goes by A-Reece as his stage name. The name came from his zodiac sign, Aries.
Whilst still in primary school, A-Reece began to write songs. His inspiration was his older brother Phologo Jody Mataboge, known popularly as P-Jay from the hip hop duo B3nchMarQ.
Venture into music
In the year 2015, A-Reece signed up to the record label, Ambitiouz Entertainment. Shortly after he joined the music label, he released his debut single Couldn’t, and featured Emtee. All this was in the year 2015. The following year, on 29th of September 2016 precisely, Lehlogonolo Ronald Mataboge alias A-Reece released an extended playlist with the title Cutaways. Like the title, the extended playlist consisted of songs that were cut away from his debut album.

Before A-Reece began dating Rickelle Jones, he was in a relationship with Natasha Thahane. She is an actress and granddaughter of Desmond Tutu. It was just as the new wave that was coming up, you know people like to make comparison, put people against each other and that type of sht. I guess after that it just became little petty sht like disrespect, this and that, mentioning the other’s name when you really shouldn’t… It’s like tension and friction but it’s not really based on anything real. If you would have tried to trace it back to what really happened, there’s nothing there…just some dumb sh*t,” he retorted.
