‘Boss Baby’ Beats ‘Beauty & the Beast’ With $49 Million Debut
‘Boss Baby’ Beats ‘Beauty & the Beast’ – Boss Baby topped this weekend’s box office with a whopping $49 million.
According to THR, the Alec Baldwin animated flick surpassed expectations and has taken in $59 million overseas, bringing it global total to $108 million.
Coming in at No. 2 was Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens, which brought in an additional $47.5 million during its third weekend for a domestic gross of $395.5 million so far.
Taking the third spot was Scarlett Johhansson‘s new thriller Ghost in the Shell with $19 million.
Rounding out the top five were Power Rangers and Kong: Skull Island, which earned $14.5 million and $8.8 million, respectively.
Meanwhile, Jessica Chastain‘s new flick The Zookeeper’s Wife brought in $3.3 million for a per-theater average of $6,191.
