Early Life
Olamide was born and christened Olamide Adedeji on the 15th of March, 1989 in Bariga, Lagos State, Nigeria. He is the son and second child of Mr and Mrs Adedeji. His mother, Mrs Ronke Osisanya Adedeji is the second wife of Mr Adedeji and gave birth to three children;TemmyGold and Eniola Olamilekan (who is also known as DJ Enimoney). He completed his primary and secondary school education in Lagos State and attended Tai solarin University of Education in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State and studied Mass Communication but dropped out due to issues in finances. The album won Best album of the year 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards, and was nominated for Rap Album of the Year at the 2014 City People Entertainment Awards. It won Best Rap Album and Album of the Year at The Headies 2014. In 2014, Olamide released his fourth studio album ‘Street OT’ which was a follow up to his previous album ‘Baddest Guy Ever Liveth’ and was preceded by the singles titled “Story For The Gods” and “Goons Mi”.The title of the album is to praise the “streets” a word he is fond of using to signify his humble beginnings. The album featured artists such as Pasuma, Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun, Phyno, Don Jazzy, and Reminisce with its production handled by Young John, Pheelz and B-banks.
On the 1st of April, 2015 Olamide partnered with Phyno to release another album “2 Kings” through the Cloud 9 and iTunes store by Penthauze and YBNL Nation. Before the album’s release the two artists had occasionally partnered on various songs like “Dope Money” and “Ghost Mode”. The album was also a collaborative effort with other artists and producers such as Wizkid, Lil Kesh, Storm Rex, Pheelz, Major Bangz, B.Banks and Young John. Controversies

There were speculations that Olamide’s song ‘science student’ encouraged getting high and using drugs. Several Nigerians called for a ban of the song because of the negative image it was projecting. People like Kemi Lala Akindoju a Nigerian film maker and Pedro Obaseki called out for the song to be banned.
In a statement released by Olamide, he asserted that the song was made to discourage drug abuse and not encourage it.
